Format International Photography Festival

• Established in 2004 by Louise Clements and Mike Brown, the biennale festival celebrates the wealth of contemporary practice in international photography and is now one of the UK’s leading non- profit international contemporary festivals of photography and related media.
• The theme of FORMAT13 centres on the FACTORY and mass production. This can be understood literally and creatively in terms of process and the transformation of material, live site of production, the products, workers, analogue process, and documentary and so on.
• Derby, the city where FORMAT is based, holds a significant World Heritage Status as the birthplace of mass production and the world’s first factory.

PhotoEspaña International Festival

• PHotoEspaña, International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts, set out to become a Festival generated by popular demand in 1998, and today it has earned its place as one of the most relevant visual arts events in the world.
• PHotoEspaña is one of the central international forums for photography. Each year the Festival attracts more than six hundred thousand people and receives acclaim from prestigious critics, making it the most popular cultural event in Spain.
• PHotoEspaña is organized by La Fábrica www.lafabrica.com, a company dedicated to arts management. The Festival is made possible thanks to the support and collaboration of private companies and public institutions

Fotofestiwal

• Fotofestiwal was born in 2001 as one of the first photography events in Poland. Since then, both photography and the ways of organising cultural events have changed. Fotofestiwal has always been up to date with these changes. It is intended as a space for various forms of photography and a forum for discussion on art and society, but also as a search for alternative methods of talking about photography and presenting it.
• What is it? An annual contest which enables photographers to take part in Fotofestiwal. The form of the contest is open and does not involve any limitations in respect of the theme, age or geography, thanks to which a variety of works and personalities may be presented.
• The winner will receive a monetary award and the title of Grand Prix Fotofestiwal 2012. His/her project will be presented in an individual exhibition during Fotofestiwal.
• The main organiser of Fotofestiwal is the Foundation of Visual Education which has been cooperating with Łódź Art Center, Art Factory and the City of Łódź Office for a number of years.
