The Photographers' Gallery (UK)

The Photographers' Gallery was opened in 1971 as a response to the growing popularity of the medium. In the decades that followed, the Gallery played a crucial role in establishing photography as an art form. As the first publicly funded independent photography venue in the world, The Photographers' Gallery has been dedicated to providing free access for everyone to engage with photography in all its forms. Today the gallery continues to provide a unique platform for showcasing modern and contemporary work by British and international artists from its recently renovated building in central London.
